It is with pleasure that I write this recommendation for Jim and Natalie Brownlie who have helped me transform a house into a beautiful home.
What started out as a small renovation ended in quite a large project spanning two years. Right from the beginning (at quotation time and the various discussion which followed) I knew Jim was the man for the job.
He is a creative problem solver and a perfectionist with a practical twist, which is exactly what this job needed. Add to that a wonderful team and, seemingly, never ending patience, and it sums up my very positive experience.
I have worked with Natalie over a number of years and have always found her to be professional, enthusiastic and creative, with a great view of the “bigger picture”. She has a knack of embracing my personal style and taste and the ability to expand it into a beautiful space which reflects my love of colour and art. Throughout this project we have been able to bounce ideas off each other and had some fun along the way.
She always has a fresh , innovative approach and goes to extreme lengths to source the perfect piece. Working with Natalie has been a pleasure and made the process of transforming my home a very enjoyable experience.
I am very happy to enthusiastically recommend Jim and Natalie for any building and decorating project.
We have had the pleasure of working with Tarlie for the past two years. We engaged Tarlie to help us with the styling and redecoration of our new home. Her ability to source unusual items, her attention to detail and her skill in picking the right colours to enhance our home are some of her many strengths.
Tarlie listens to you to ensure that you get the look and feel that you want. She also tries to incorporate your existing furnishing rather than always suggesting you purchase new items. Tarlie, as well as being exceptionally talented, is a lovely lady who we would have no hesitation to recommend to anyone who is looking for that ‘wow’ look in their home.
When we bought our new home, a lovely old Queenlander, 81 Campbell Street in September 2018, we were thrilled to be the next custodians this charming heritage home. The house was built in 1924 by Thomas and Ivy Grace Roberts and only had another three owners, each of them making various changes to the property during their tenure.
We couldn’t wait to add our persona, but wished to enhance and not detract the home’s gracious era so conceded we needed professional advice. While the property had good bones and had been maintained to a reasonable standard, it had seen better days and was ready for a re-vamp. We immediately knew that Tarlie, whose professional services we engaged with a previous property, would be the perfect choice for the exterior and interior makeover of this home. We couldn’t be happier with the result, and it is gorgeous. Tarlie’s professional input and ideas transformed our tired Queenslander into something quite stunning. We get many compliments, even from strangers stopping to admire the house from the street, but most importantly, we love it!
Tarlie is a talented designer who produced beautiful spaces within each of our homes, homes of which were different architectural styles. She also possesses an innate ability to read us as her clients and skillfully and tastefully create a space within or outside a home, reflecting who we are and what we wish to achieve. With Tarlie, it is always about the client and not about imposing her taste; she has a real skill for creating beautiful rooms and homes that are meaningful and memorable.
